About forgiveness

About forgiveness

I’m pretty sure this video will offend someone, so I’ll apologize now. Make note: “I’m sorry”. I’m also being sarcastic, but that’s par for the course with me. You have no way of knowing this yet, but this post is about forgiveness. Actually, it’s about the funny side of forgiveness – if there is one.

Before you view this HILARIOUS forgiveness video, remember everyone at one time or another has felt this way – even you, I’ll bet.

I think that’s why this song is so popular (and funny).

Christianity is not about fakery, but the truth. The truth is: it’s hard to forgive sometimes. Don’t believe me? Just ask the Psalmist King David!

Check him out in Psalm 137:7-8:

7 Our Lord, punish the Edomites!
Because the day Jerusalem fell,
    they shouted,
    “Completely destroy the city!
    Tear down every building!”
Babylon, you are doomed!
    I pray the Lord’s blessings
    on anyone who punishes you
for what you did to us.
May the Lord bless everyone
    who beats your children
    against the rocks!

Girl, we all feel like “GET HIM GOD!!!!” at one time or another. Ok… often. We feel that way often.

When someone hurts us or the ones we love, our first emotion isn’t happiness and our first action is NOT about forgiveness! At least not me.

Ride with me during rush hour traffic and you’ll witness me working hard (VERY HARD!) to keep my heart clean during the evening commute home. Ha!

The thing about forgiveness…

The key to this whole forgiveness thing, Christian woman, is to allow God to heal your hurts while you trust Him with the outcome. It’s hard, but you have to do it. You cannot remain in bitterness. You just can’t!

Yes, you will feel wounded (because you will be) and you may even wish a flower pot would fall on someone’s head but don’t camp out in “Camp Bitterness.” Don’t let anger stand there.

Clue: this dude gave it all away in the first verse!

Do the work to let it go!

Bitterness is usually what develops when you don’t stay under a good church with teaching, growth, accountability, and support.

When you listen to this humorous forgiveness song, the first line you’ll hear is “I haven’t been to church in a while...”

And there it is.

Stay your hiney in church and stay in fellowship with the Lord.

Church is like a necessary vitamin supplement – only it’s a spiritual one, I guess. It will nourish you, strengthen you, and give you exactly what you need to live this Christian life strong and long!

Now, click the video and enjoy a giggle. If you can’t see it, click here.

Enjoy the laugh, but strive to release your anger, forgive others as you have been forgiven. Amen?

  1. this did bring a laugh 🙂 and I also thought of two people in my life that are really struggling with bitterness and depression over someone who has hurt them – praying for them tonight….
