Honestly, this song does an amazing job conveying the work of the Holy Spirit for me and to me.
Lord I hear of showers of blessings,
Thou art scattering full and free.
Showers of thirsty, land refreshing,
Let some drops now fall on me.
Even me Lord, even me.
Even me Lord, even me,
let some drops now fall on me.
Chorus
Vamp 1:
Showers of blessings,
fall down on us.
Shower,
rain on us,
rain on us,
fall down
oh, oh, oh, oh.
This is one of my favorite songs ever. It’s an old, but goodie.
For me, it exemplifies the needy believer’s plea for God’s presence in our lives. What a huge blessing!
Some people think blessings are material matter, but not necessarily.
I would even say not usually, because the supernatural gifts are the most precious.
What does the Holy Spirit do? He teaches and instructs me.
In my life, the richest blessing is that of the Holy Spirit.
I crave His presence in my life and He shows up.
I long for that still small voice that speaks to my heart often and stirs sincere praise in my spirit.
He’s the catalyst of my growth, learning, confidence and understanding. He makes the Word of God real to me. He makes it as though someone has turned on a light inside my understanding. I can really “get” the Word because He helps me.
What does the Holy Spirit do? He trains me to do what I should do.
As He convicts me, disciplines me, I learn to follow the paths of righteousness with His help. He makes sure God’s word is tattooed on my heart so when I’m tempted to do wrong, I just can’t seem to do it. He does this in big ways and little ones.
Today, I had to renew my drivers license. When the lady asked if my weight was the same, I felt that little “nudge” to be honest. So, in my usual joking way I replied “I wish. But I really weight _____.” He helps me in the little things and those little things do matter.
I learn God’s statutes at His hand.
What does the Holy Spirit do? He gives me peace.
His comfort reaches far past the facades, the smiles and the “I’m ok‘s” and touches me at my most vulnerable places in my soul. Then, He heals them. He wraps the spiritual wounds and nurses me to wholeness. He restoreth my soul.
When confusion plagues me, the Holy Spirit directs me and tells me which way I should go. When options are overwhelming, He says “This is the way to go”.
Yes, Lord, shower me with your blessings. May I be compelled to know You more, drawn to experience your grace in depth, develop more in your discipline and cherish your wonderful blessings.
Thank the Father for His person of the Holy Spirit.

i love the lyrics to this song…we have abundantly all we need in HIM and through the holy spirit we are comforted, restored, directed, convicted, and so much more!
I was thinking of the lyrics to a song I like by Paul Wilbur, called “Let the Weight of Your Glory Fall” and there is a lyric in the song that says:
We do not seek Your hand
We only seek Your face
We want to know You
We want to see You
Reveal Your glory in this place
sigh…nothing like being in His presence….
