Looking for a scripture for hard times? I actually have a few for you! No doubt, life situations can cause you to question God’s purpose for your life. You can feel beaten down. Delayed ministry goals may compel you to wonder if God even called you in the first place. That’s hard. A wayward child might make you feel helpless and incompetent as a mother. Don’t feel that way. Kids make their own decisions regardless of how we raise them. Another example of a hard time is if a marriage may end suddenly, and you’re not sure why. That’s when you need a scripture for hard times.

Let me share a few more examples of hard times.
Failed relationships could challenge your sense of self-worth. Living with an unloving spouse can do the same – it can tear you down at the very core of your womanhood.
Grief may make you question even your faith at times. Trials, adversities, and disappointments can make you wonder, “Does God have a purpose in the pain?”
The resounding answer is “YES!” I know this because I’ve been there.
God knows what He’s doing.
I’ve been through many of these hard times too. The worst of times occurred so long ago, yet the sting feels fresh. However, I am convinced each trial played a huge role in the strength I now have. Each one worked to build my faith.
This scripture is proof of that:
Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you.
1 Peter 4:12
God carefully orders your steps [and your struggles] to bring you to a higher place in Him. Just like a patchwork quilt, He meticulously snips pieces of your journey to transform you into the image of Jesus. He then assembles them into beautiful patterns of victory so that the world can see the magnificence of His saving power.
Think of Joseph and the countless sufferings and betrayals He endured on His way to greatness. It was part of the process.
Your pain is part of your process too. Don’t give up.
