The Mighty Army of the Lord

We are in a fight, Christian Sister—one unto the death. Today, there will be attacks from the enemy.  Tomorrow too. You will deal with critics, saboteurs, controlling people, and mean-spirited haters.   Sorry to be so gloomy, but it’s true and part of being a Christian. When you gave your life to Christ, you signed up to be in the army of the Lord.  It’s also part of being a human. It’s just life. Yeah, Jesus promised we would have tribulations. As the old people used to say, we’re actually soldiers – soldiers in the army of the Lord.

An Army of the Lord News Flash

If you are not a Christian, you are on the wrong side of life’s fight and completely powerless against the prince of the cosmos. You have no covering. You’re there like a wounded deer in the forest at night.

Conversely, Christians have access to every spiritual resource at our disposal. We are destined to win! We have Jesus interceding for us and the Holy Spirit guiding us. Plus, because of what Christ did on the cross (died and rose), we belong to a huge family led by the Creator of the universe.

Don’t expect us to go down quickly! Christian Woman, we can quickly access a sword to fight (the Word of God) and many more weapons as well!

What does it mean to be in the army of the Lord?

Being in the army of the Lord is a way of saying we are in a battle for our souls. It’s a commitment to follow Jesus’ teachings, spreading love, forgiveness, and compassion while resisting temptation and standing firm in one’s beliefs. Essentially, being a Christian soldier is about fighting for Godly territory and bringing light to those in a world often overshadowed by darkness and adversity. We have enemies – the devil and his fallen angels. They want to defeat us and bring us to their side.

Plus, the Bible says we wear “armor,” and the only individuals who wear armor are soldiers!

Ephesians 6:10-18

New International Version (NIV) The Armor of God

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.

11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.

12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.

14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place,

15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.

17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

We are the Army of the Lord!

Here is another scripture that aligns our Christian walk with being a soldier.

Thou therefore, endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
2 Timothy 2:3 (KJV)

As a Christian soldier, you have a noble purpose and a sacred mission. Your fight is not against flesh and blood in the army of the Lord but against the spiritual forces of evil that seek to undermine truth and justice.

Girl! Keep your spiritual armor always in place.

Why? Because being a Christian soldier means living a life of faith and devotion while actively engaging in the spiritual battles of life. It’s about putting on the armor of God, as mentioned in Ephesians 6:11-12, to resist the enemy’s strategies and stand firm in the faith.

In addition to the physical and spiritual protection provided by the armor of God, as Christian soldiers, we are also called to share the gospel’s message with others. That’s part of why the enemy wants to take us out.

This includes sharing God’s love and grace with those around us and being willing to testify to our faith at all times.

No fight worth winning is easy.

Being a Christian soldier is not easy, but God strengthens and equips us for the battle.

As we hold fast to our faith and trust in the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we can face the difficulties we face with courage. Besides that, we can be discerning and not fall into the enemy’s traps. Trust me, he will set them. It doesn’t matter because the Holy Spirit is our Guide and will empower us to overcome any and all the temptations that come our way.

Remember that you are not alone in this spiritual warfare.

In addition to the heavenly hosts of heaven, the Christian community is there to support you and pray with you. Again, this is why fellowships with other believers are so crucial. It’s where we can find comfort, encouragement, and strength in our journey as Christian soldiers.

So, each day, rise up, put on the armor of God, and face the spiritual battles with faith and determination, knowing that He is with you every step of the way.

Think like a Christian soldier.

A soldier always has a strategy, orders to carry out, and plans to get things done. He or she also has weaponry!

Just like any soldier, you fight with POWERFUL weapons that are mighty to the PULLING DOWN of strongholds and everything that rises against the knowledge of God!

Never let the battle get you down!

Your strategy is to ignore the wicked, petty, or negative people who are not saved. Pray for the weak Christians that allow Satan to use them to attack you. Don’t stoop to their level and fight with “earthly” weapons.

Your orders are clear. Christian Lady, you are to be salt and light in this world and draw others to the Lord! That’s what a good soldier in the army of the Lord does! I’m getting excited as I write each word!

God has an astounding, incredible plan for your life!

All you have to do is know who you are (army of the Lord) and the powers in you (4-star Holy Spirit)! You are God’s girl. The very Holy Spirit of God is inside you!  Fight on, Sister!

You got something better than the weapons of Wakanda; you’ve got Jesus Christ! 🙂

In case you didn’t know, Wakanda is a fictitious African nation prominently featured in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Wakanda is an advanced country with impressive technology, featured in the movie “Black Panther.” It is known for its abundant Vibranium resources, which have enabled them to surpass the rest of the world in terms of technological advancements.

Wakandans, led by their wise king, T’Challa, the Black Panther, have created a perfect society hidden from the outside world. It reminds me of how we are a perfect hidden society of Christians. The only difference is anyone can be a part of it!

Wakanda’s capital, also called Wakanda, is a bustling metropolis adorned with futuristic architecture and advanced transportation systems. Its citizens thrive in harmony, blending tradition with progress. The royal palace, located at the heart of the city, stands as a symbol of Wakanda’s unity and strength.

Beyond its remarkable technological advancements, Wakanda is renowned for its fierce warriors, the Dora Milaje, an all-female special forces unit dedicated to its protection. The Dora Milaje’s impressive combat skills and unwavering loyalty make them the vanguard of Wakanda’s security.

Any wonder I saw this movie 4 times? I know Wakanda is not nearly equal to the Kingdom of our wonderful Kingdom of God.

But, I do feel we have mighty women of prayer who propel and spiritually guard our families. How, by warring on our knees! We are soldiers of the Lord! Protecting our tradition of prayer with the progress of the “outside world”.

Ok, enough of my movie comparison.

Take your place in the army of the Lord, walk in love, and do your thing! Never surrender to the enemy or his lures to be less than who God created you to be!

 Amen?

Need some “war” music?

Remember, you’re strong!
