This evening my husband and I launched our church’s respite (called “Gethsemane”) by spending some much needed time together.
We watched Jefferson Moore’s movie “The Perfect Stranger“.
The movie depicts an unbeliever during an unexpected evening with a real, modern-day Jesus. I’ve seen the movie several times now, but each time it reminds me of God’s availability during and empathy for my own Christian walk on this earth.
If you are an Amazon Prime member, you can watch it FREE here. I promise you’ll finish that movie with a fresh concept of Jesus’ love for you.
Hey, life can be a trip. You need overcoming faith!
This world can be cold. Relationships grow dull. Age steals what was once taken for granted – health, physical beauty, etc.
Death haunts our views of mortality and personal security.
At times, life is an uphill battle for your joy. Do you know what I mean?
He knows. and He cares…
Jesus is very aware of the strains and stresses in this world and provides an olive branch of strength and comfort by way of the Holy Spirit.
We only need to accept the help and trust Him with the big stuff and the little stuff too. That’s what overcoming faith is! Faith to be an overcomer.
Sometimes, we make overcoming more difficult than it need be. Trust, that’s all we have to do…trust Jesus. Why do we complicate that so much, Christian woman?
Also, hang your spiritual hat on the fact that Jesus already knew you’d have a difficult time in this life.
He warned us a long time ago of it.
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
But the extremely good news is He also gave us a head start toward our victory. It’s easy to have overcoming faith when you know you’re a victor already, right?
How?
Girl, I’m glad you asked!
He said although the world is a rough place to live, He already overcame the world for us! Isn’t that good news?
Every problem, every sickness, every battle, and every temptation has been overcome by the work of Jesus Christ on the Cross.
We simply need to walk in His strength and remember we have the victory all along. We have to reach for help and the Helper to make it.Grab hold to your present help today. Remember, you’re not alone in this “thing” call life and your “Help” never tires of delivering you and bringing peace when it seems hardest.
It’s what He does and it’s what He’ll do forever.
We are WINNERS IN JESUS!!!
