INCREDIBLE Bible Journal Prompts for Women

Do you ever get stuck when you journal? I do. Then, there are other times when I have no problem writing, but I want to add some productivity to my journaling experience. Bible journal prompts help with both!

Bible journaling is such a beautiful and transformative way to connect with God’s Word on a personal, foundational level. Just the other day, I was looking at journal entries I’ve written 20 years ago!

But the truth is, I was scattered.

My journals were simply a jumble of feelings and words.

I had no clear direction for my writing.

Now, I know I can do better.

Bible Journal Prompts Can Help!

Combining creativity, reflection, and scripture allows you to express your Christian faith uniquely and personally.

It can be an organized journey!

Using Bible journal prompts can help you engage more deeply with the text you write!

The best part is I think Bible journal prompts encourage thoughtful meditation.

It forces you to ponder scriptural meanings and applications in daily life.

As you write out the verses, the Holy Spirit shows you, your Bible journal will soon be filled with annotated insights. These can change your perspectives and the way you think.

I think my Bible journal prompts help me create a visual and textual tapestry.

Bring Your Brain!

My hodgepodge of words begins to reveal patterns and insights.

Bible journal prompts will pique your brain and stimulate thinking, encouraging you to dive deeper.

These prompts can help you explore various themes found in scripture, too.

It will allow you actually to grow in your Bible knowledge.

Think of it. As you write down your thoughts and feelings in response to each question or statement, you will understand more!

You will remember more. Here is an interesting dissertation on journaling and retention.

My book Processing Your Christian Journey is a great resource. It also includes lots of other prompts you can use.

Wait, Terri! What ‘Choo Talking About?

Girl, it just dawned on me some people may not even know what a Bible journal is!

Well, in my view, a Bible journal is a text you write as you read your Bible.

It holds your personal reflections and thoughts.

Your Bible journal is the place to capture your thoughts, insights, and feelings – as the Holy Spirit illuminates the Word!

It allows you to go more in-depth into the scriptures.

Leveraging my graduate degree, let me say I also think it also encourages you to analyze and interpret the Biblical messages you encounter.

I highly recommend it!

Look, by documenting your journey, you cultivate a more profound connection to the Lord.

God will turn it into a precious resource for your future reflections and for sharing your insights with others.

This practice enhances your understanding and nurtures your spiritual growth.

It’s the difference between a burger without fries and a burger with them.

It makes your Bible reading experience more meaningful and engaging.

What should I write in a Bible journal?

I’m glad you asked! You should write whatever will help you remember and process what you read.

I sometimes use stickers.

Other times, I don’t.

I often draw hearts and figures – then, on other journaling sessions, I don’t.

Arrows are going everywhere. Brain mapping is happening. It’s whatever works for me.

That’s what your Bible journal should be – personalized.

The Bible journal prompts are just icing on the cake.

In the end, it’s your cake and no one else’s.
