Fixed on Jesus, Girl!

May I ask how’s your vision? How are you seeing things in your life at this moment? I often and I mean VERY OFTEN have to ask myself this very thing.  Do you remember my post about this very subject a while ago? Again, I’m reminding myself and you to keep those eyes fixed on the Lord! Repeat after me: “My eyes are fixed on Jesus.”

I try and try to keep my gaze fixed on Jesus when life gets crazy. But, it gets hard. It’s easy to focus on the things that are wrong and going wrong, isn’t it?

If you’re anything like me, you sometimes feel like taking a 24-hour nap (at least 6 days a week) during the rough seasons. In other words, I feel like just checking out of the world until the madness ends and returning when everything is perfect (as if, right?)

Wake me when the craziness is over.

You know what I’m going to say, Christian Woman! Regardless of how you (and I) feel; God is at work in our lives.

Your present trial is working an “eternal weight of glory” in us. It’s a process we must go through, I think.

You’re not going through any of this pain in vain. A glorious plan is at work. IT IS!!! I REALLY IS!

For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever!

2 Corinthians 4:17

Did you know when you buy a car, the minute you drive it off the lot, it begins to depreciate? That means that each minute, second, and day you own it; it incrementally loses it’s worth and value. The same happens with our physical bodies. We can work hard to slow the process, but aging is imminent. The body is decaying and eventually will return to dust.

But there is good news about our spirits!

In spite of the rotting of our outward flesh, our spirits are being renewed day by day. We may feel life is beating us to the core, but it’s not.

The Spirit of the living God rejuvenates us while we suffer and endure this mess! It gets fresher and fresher and newer and newer as we fix our eyes on Jesus.

There is a catch. We do have to do one thing.

He recharges us by the regenerative power of prayer and fellowship with HIM. Each time you shut out the world and plug yourself into quiet time with the Father, you are filling your tank so you can become exhilarated and invigorated. You must make that time with Him.

During that quiet, peaceful time, He renews us with brand new grace, mercy, and love. He does it and sometimes you have no idea that’s what is even happening. That’s why we have to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus.

It also helps to listen to sermons to encourage you. Great Christian music also helps. You’re feeding your spirit. You’re getting the strength to make it through this life. You’re keeping your eyes fixed on Jesus. He’s our lifeblood.

fix your eyes on jesus

If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8  My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and so [ a ] prove to be My disciples. 9  Just as the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you; abide in My love.

John 15:7-9

Being around other Christians is a blessing, but…

Church is important to your overall growth, but you must spend time with the actual SOURCE of all things to stay strong.

Sometimes people make church itself a god. It cannot be!

You leave that build for days at a time. You need a relationship with Jesus daily – one that lives in your heart.

Don’t simply rely on Sunday and Wednesday for spiritual sustainability. Your church is not equal to God nor should it ever be!

Jesus, alone, is your Redeemer and Source of strength. Keep your faith and your eyes on Him.

As you stay “plugged” into your Source of renewal; you’ll find the troubles of the present world grow smaller and shrink in contrast to the power of your Jesus.

Whether your life is plagued with the pain of an unloving spouse, a friend’s betrayal, rebellious children, unsaved loved ones, financial problems, health struggles, grief, or whatever – God has something for you that’s not worthy of comparison to any of it.

So, again, fix, lock, your eyes on Him, and the invisible attributes of His kingdom.

Pastor Nate Holcomb says in a sermon I found: “Fix your eyes on Him and look away from everything else“. Don’t lose heart, Christian woman.

Turn your back to the struggles of life and focus on Jesus.

Look not on what is seen, but what is unseen! Keep YOUR mind on Him and primarily Him!!!

Hey, the enemy is counting on you to break down, to give in, to falter, to fail. But the devil is a liar and God is true!

You just keep on looking in the right direction and HOLD ON!!! He hasn’t left you. You’re going to make it through this in Jesus’ name!

Final Note: I can no longer answer all of the “contacts” Godsy Girl.Com receives.

I’ll keep trying, but in the meantime, thank you for the encouragement and testimonies as a result of Godsy Girl. God uses you to not only hone my gifts but also to encourage my heart.

As I write here, I’m talking to myself too. This is like my journal. 🙂

God bless all of you who have accepted and re-committed to Christ recently! Thanks for letting me know. Hold on, you’re in for the most exciting and fulfilling ride of your life! The best part: You’re never alone in this journey! Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, Girl!
