Devotional for Settling into a New Home

A while ago, I wrote a blog post with prayers for blessing a new home. Since then, my kid and his wife moved into a beautiful home. Since then, I’ve given a lot of thought to new homes and covering them in prayer. Speaking of covering in prayer, read my post on that topic. We have to be vigilant and steadfast in prayer. Wrote about being steadfast, too. You can read that one here. If you are not looking for a devotional for settling into a new home, please share this with someone.

Before I share with you the various Christian lifestyle content I’ve created, :) let me introduce you to this devotional, specifically designed for Christians moving into new homes.

To be clear, I don’t mean “new homes” as in homes that are newly built. I mean any place you call home.

I’ve already written the blog post for prayer on your new place, so this time, I created a 5-Day devotional for you.

Be present in your new blessing.

I hope this post inspires you to embrace gratitude and celebrate Jesus’ abundant provision as you embark on the exciting journey of your first five days in your new home.

You’ll love that I’ve crafted it to beautifully intertwine scripture, uplifting prayer, reflective journaling prompts, and heartfelt expressions of gratitude.

Are you ready? Let’s start on Day #1!

Today, as you step into your new home, take a moment to acknowledge that this space is not just a building. It is a place where God’s peace can dwell. Pray that this home will be filled with His peace, love, and comfort, and ask God to guide your family in making this space a reflection of His glory.

Journaling Prompt:

  • How can I invite God’s peace into this space today?
  • Reflect on any moments of peace you’ve already felt here.

  • How can I open my home in a way that reflects God’s love?
  • What does it mean to offer hospitality from a Christian perspective?
  • Reflect on a time when you felt welcomed and how you can extend that same kindness.
