Is it good for a Christian to curse? – Part II

fbfre Follow Me on Pinterest Is it ok for Christians to curse?

Why do we curse? The chief reason is usually the result of pain, frustration or anger, right? Sometimes the cursing/swearing slips out before people realize it. So, how do we control these reactions?

Tip 1: Change the way you think and you change the way you respond. Once you cleanse your thoughts (what the Bible often calls your “heart”), your responses will holy (or holier), more Christ-like responses. Remember, there is a difference between an “oops” and a lifestyle.

Tip 2: Immerse yourself in God’s word. Spend meaningful amounts of time. Study God’s commands, promises and resources. It will change your thinking and ultimately change your heart. Yes, it takes time. But, eventually, your responses will align with God’s way and God’s word.

Tip 3: Make sure your “diet” reflects what you want to emote. Thinking about the food you eat. If you feast on junk food, you exude junk (low energy, dim eyes, health problems, etc). Same is true spiritually. Feast on trashy reality shows, lusty music with filthy Godless content and eventually, that’s what will come “out” of your life. You may control yourself on Sundays and Wednesdays, but, Honey, eventually what is inside will come out.
God’s Word says it all:
Luke 6:45
“A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart…”

So, in the end, it is the content of our hearts that monitor our reactions. Reminds me to pray what David prayed. You know the one.

It’s Psalm 51:10:

“Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.”

Amen or whatever?
